You know slide film just… rocks. It took three days for snappy snaps to turn around my roll of Fuji RXP, and the moment I got it back from the lab, I put the roll against the sun…. ahh, the colours, the colours. The attraction of slide is of course that you are viewing the exposed film directly, a kind of what you see is what you get. It’s both a blessing and a curse. In this case, I’ve just uploaded the lo res scan that came from Snappy Snaps. Trust me. The actual slide is a million times better looking. Smoother tones, more detail in the shadow and light, especially the skies. In the scan, everything is blown out. On the slide, I can see puffy silver clouds.
Having said that, the photograph in general has a dreamy quality to it, even with a low resolution scan, it’s distinctive.
